WOCHA BACKGROUND



Women and Children Hope Affairs {WOCHA}is relatively new  a non profit nation wide organization dedicated to work in partnership with various stakeholders to address the needs of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities particularly Women and Children in Tanzania by improving their Quality lives through participatory  and sustainable programmes .

The Women and Children’s Hope Affairs (WOCHA)  was originally registered  in earlier yearas an NGO aimed at addressing the concerns of both women and children in Tanzania, and was initially  prepared to  scale up Psychosocial care and Support (PSS ) for women and  children  in distress because of  poor living  conditions related to health, educational ,environmental , social , economic or  war and conflict .

ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL



The overall goal of WOCHA is to contribute to developing an integrated multi-sector approach to tackle the root causes of women & children’s threats and challenges for their survival.

A specific objective includes i) Provision of support to Traditional and modern approaches   for the acquisition of rights and privileges for disadvantaged children, orphans and women. Others include promotion of income generating activities (IGA) to support the same, offer PSS to children, women and elder people affected with HIV AIDS and related diseases and working with environment experts across the world  in protecting nature  and biodiversity for the betterment of  present and coming generation.

WOCHA’S VISION


To see a fully developed, respectable and happy society without discrimination of any kind based on gender, color, age or religion and also women and men who care about the environment  from female perspective.

WOCHA MISSION:



WOCHA  exists to speed up  advocacy campaigns aimed at lessening or eradicating   problems  and challenges that threatens the survival of women & Children  in  communities and to  facilitate their social , moral , religious , mental and economical development  and progress.


To achieve the above mission WOCHA promotes the cooperation between development donor partners /Non governmentals Organizations {NGO’s} operating in the same area, it promotes self reliance of local communities.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE



WOCHA is governed by a board and consists the Director, Programme Officer, Cashier/ Accountant , Gender Facilitator , The Technical Advisor , District Facilitator/volunteer  and other three women appointed by the general meeting among them two \ being PLWHS (People living with HIV/AIDS) .

COOPERATION



WOCHA believes in cooperation among international and local Grassroots communities Development organizations / non governmental organizations and the government. As a policy, WOCHA welcomes the idea of partnership among those partners/organizations /individuals /companies who have shown interest with our goals, towards achieving a common objective. This applies to all over Tanzania as we are nationwide registered and authorized organization to operate in the whole mainland of Tanzania

PERSONNEL



They consist of local staff and expatriate \ olunteer’s skills are most important in reaching the project objectives.

PEOPLE FOCUS



Doing every best way to support people in a great poverty, those who are oppressed and marginalized e.g. women, those in vulnerable situations e.g. street children, old people, young people, disabled people
